My name is Thomas Koehle. I’m living in Beijing since a couple of years and was always fascinated by these “old style” CHANG JIANG Motorbikes.

Being a collector of historical military equipment back in Europe initially I was just interested to get one of these military-style Repro bikes.

Owning MY own CHANG I realized more and more the potential for customizing of these vintage looking rides.

Additional to that I wanted MY ride to look different from the other CHANGS which are driven in the area of Beijing where I live.

It started out with a swap of the rear fender and taillight - until the last projects where a lot of custom work was done.

Originally produced with a sidecar I removed those bulky buckets on 2 of my rides just to have more fun with riding them solo.

I’m not interested to build up a HARLEY or BMW-look-a-likes out of these bikes but old-school vintage bikes prepped up with custom parts which underline their vintage appearance.

All restorations and customizing jobs are done from the ground – means the parts are sandblasted, mockup of the final layout is setup, final shape is released and after that everything disassembled for paint job and powder coating.

Bodywork like the modified fenders is done according to my drawings.

Having a lot of ideas in mind I’m currently planning for the next project!

I will setup a concept for your bike – give you ideas for a paintjob – take care for proper assembly here in China and even will break-in your ride for a few hundred kilometers before packing everything and ship to YOUR home!

Cruising through your hometown on a Chang will attract more people than hanging on a HARLEY or any other bike.
